Brendan Fraser has been cast in DC Universe’s upcoming live action series Doom Patrol, as the character of Robotman/Cliff Steele, who’s one of the main characters of the team of outcast super-powered humans.
Fraser will be voicing the character of Robotman and will appearing as himself in flashbacks as Cliff Steele. Cliff Steele prior becoming a robot, was a race car driver, but after a horrific car accident that left his body uninhabitable, Dr. Niles Caulder of the Doom Patrol places his working brain in the body of a robot. Actor Riley Shanahan has been cast to play the physical performance of Robotman, as he’ll be in full robot costume.
Doom Patrol will be produced by Greg Berlanti and Warner Bros. Television, written by Jeremy Carver with actors April Bowlby as Elasti-Woman, Diane Guerrero as Crazy Jane and Joivan Wade as Cyborg.
There’s no official release date for the series as of yet, it’s only known it’ll be released sometime in 2019.
