Dark Knight: A True Batman Story To Be A Vertigo Title

Paul Dini’s upcoming graphic novel called Dark Knight: A True Batman Story is set to be released in 2016 under the Vertigo Imprint from DC Comics and drawn by Eduardo Risso, the acclaimed artist of Vertigo’s crime series 100 Bullets.

The novel itself is based on a horrific experience Paul Dini experienced back in 1993 in which he was mugged and nearly killed due to kill injuries.

Comic books often times allows fans to escape their own problems, especially in the early days when the Wars were going on comics were sent to the troops as a way to boost morale. Now it seems Paul Dini is using his experience and the Batman characters as a way to finally put that night to rest.

The Hollywood Reporter got the Exclusive interview with him as he discusses what went into coming up with the story and what it means to him.

I also think it’s cool that the cover is a pay on the controversial cover with The Joker and Batgirl.

Personally growing up I will always be grateful that he was able to come out of his experience and will be buying this book as soon as it is released.

Before Batman: The Animated Series, my favorite of his work he was also a writer on He-Man and the Masters of the Universe, so in both eras in my childhood he was there giving me laughter and entertainment, so from me I say thank you Paul Dini and can’t wait to hear your story.
