Just days after Doug Liman spoke on his idea for Justice League Dark, it’s being reported that he has now left the project to concentrate more on his current directing job Chaos Walking.
According to Variety, Doug Liman was already signed up to direct Chaos Walking before he signed on to Justice League Dark, making it a schedule conflict, similar to the Tom Hardy situation with The Revenant and Suicide Squad.
After hearing how passionate he sounded with working on the film it’s certainly discouraging, especially if it’s all just a scheduling conflict.
Warner Bros. has made no comment on the situation, but according to The Hollywood Reporter’s Borys Kit, Stephen King’s It director Andy Muschietti is in the running to be the new director.
With the recent trailers for the new adaptation of Stephen King’s novel IT being highly praised it wouldn’t be a bad way to go, just as long as he feels as passionate as Doug Liman felt.
Studio is already looking for new director on JUSTICE LEAGUE DARK, with one source saying IT director Andy Muschietti is on the list.
