Entertainment Weekly has learned exclusively that Frederick Schmidt has been cast as Metallo in the second season of Supergirl, that found its new home on The CW.
As previously reported, on set photos showed Tyler Hoechlin as Superman going up against Metallo. Now with the casting of Schmidt as the supervillian, we learn that Metallo, who’s real name is John Corben is international assassin that’s badly injured after taking on both Supergirl (Melissa Benoist) and Superman, for him to then be brought back by a shadow organization into the Kryptonite-powered supervillain Metallo.
Metallo will appear in two episodes, starting with the season 2 premiere of Supergirl, airing Monday, October 10th on The CW.
