How Will The Flash Season 2 Finale Affect Arrow Season 5?

After both The Flash and Arrow have concluded their respective seasons, ComicBook.com got a chance to speak with Stephen Amell, who plays Oliver Queen/Green Arrow on about what we can expect from Season 5 of Arrow, as well as whether or not The Flash Season 2 finale revelation will affect Season 5 of Arrow at all.

SPOILERS TO THOSE WHO HAVE YET TO SEE THE FLASH SEASON 2 FINALE

The Flash Season 2 finale ended with a pretty big twist…Flashpoint is apparently going to be something that will be explored next season.

In Flashpoint the comic book story, by Geoff Johns, Barry Allen goes back in time to stop the death of his mother Nora Allen. This causes him to end up in an alternate universe where he slowly begins to lose the memories of the previous timeline and now has to figure out how to get things right.

Obviously with Arrow taking place within the same universe as The Flash it is expected Arrow would be effected, but in what way?

WILL THE FLASH S2 FINALE TWIST AFFECT ARROW

“I don’t know”

WHAT STEPHEN AMELL WOULD LIKE TO SEE HAPPEN

. “I do know that we’ve done a lot of work on Arrow to introduce the other shows, for lack of a better term, and now that that’s all done, we’re focused on doing the things that we do well for Season 5.”

When asked if that meant bringing it “back to basics,” Amell said, “Yes, that’s exactly right. Arrow is at its best when we’re dealing with problems in Star City. We’re not a time-travel show, we’re not a multi-Earth show, though obviously [we do that] with crossovers and stuff like that. We’re Arrow, we deal with Star City, and I feel like we’ll be better off focusing on that.”

Season 3 of The Flash should certainly send a wrinkle through the timelines and even possibly bring the Supergirl universe into The Flash universe, but I expect we will see Arrow continue on in the current timeline and the 4 way crossover will see them all come together. However, any other crossovers will more than likely see an alternative version of the characters.

We already seen Earth 2 featured Robert Queen as the man running for mayor and more likely that Earth’s Green Arrow.
