According to The Hollywood Reporter, Oscar winner J.K. Simmons has been cast as Commissioner James Gordon in Justice League: Part One, which will be the first appearance of the character. Commissioner Gordon was a role previously played by greats like as Pat Hingle and Gary Oldman on film.
J.K. Simmons is known for his role as J Jonah Jameson in the Raimi Spider-Man Trilogy and has became a fan favorite, Simmons will make an excellent addition to the DC Extended Universe.
James Gordon is the Police Commissioner for Gotham City and becomes a close friend with Batman as Batman fights as a vigilante and Commissioner Gordon fights on the side of the law. Commissioner Gordon has had very little changes through his years in the comics but in the recent New 52 run he would become the new Batman
Currently the character can be seen on Gotham played Ben Mackenzie on the television network FOX.
