The Hollywood Reporter recently broke the news that Sony was looking to Director James Wan to direct their live action adaptation of Robotech, well if they really want him they may need to put a hold on the project.
According to Jeff Sneider of The Wrap, he reported on his Twitter that James Wan would be directing Aquaman after he finishes The Conjuring 2 and he would more likely only be available in 2019.
Now Warner Bros. and James Wan has not responded to the claim so consider this a rumor at the moment, but The Wrap are usually spot on and James Wan has said Warner Bros. was interested in him for a DC film.
Wan also said The Rock, who worked under Wan for Furious 7 and will play Black Adam in the DCCU, confirmed so far for Shazam, also was looking to get him in on a project, so because of that and the fact that Warner Bros. has a great working relationship with him it leads us to believe in this report.
James Wan is gonna direct AQUAMAN after CONJURING 2, from what I hear. Warner Bros. ain't waiting. Sony will have to wait until, like, 2019.
