John Barrowman, who has been a constant recurring member of the Arrow cast has finally been promoted to series regular, as well as other Greg Berlanti shows on The CW.

According to TV Line, the behind the scenes trickster has signed a new contract with the series that will also see him to continue playing his role as Malcolm Merlyn as a regular on all the other Greg Berlanti shows currently on The CW.

Producer and creator Greg Berlanti spoke on the new deal and its relation with a similar deal made with Wentworth Miller, who has also signed a contract that will allow him on all the DC shows on The CW.

“What it really emulates to us is the comic books themselves, where there really are a cast of characters,” Berlanti said in May, when Miller’s own deal was announced. “In success, we hope to continue with other characters finding their way across all the shows.”

While Supergirl is not named as one of the shows, it was made clear that this deal will go across all Greg Berlanti-Produced shows, so its assumed this deal includes the new upcoming CW series. With The Flash exploring the Flashpoint story arc, its possible we will be seeing a wide range of John Barrowman’s acting talent as he will more than likely play different versions of the character.
