American actor John Turturro has been officially cast as crime boss Carmine Falcone in The Batman, confirmed by The Batman director himself Matt Reeves through his officially Twitter account.

Like he’s done in the past few Tweets confirming the casting of Jeffrey Wright as Commissioner Gordon and Andy Serkis as Alfred, Reeves is using the social media platform to confirm casting and the characters that’ll be appearing in his upcoming standalone Batman movie starring Robert Pattinson as the title character.

In the comics Carmine Falcone also nick named “The Roman”,  is an enemy to Batman and a friend of the Wayne family, who made his debut in the Frank Miller and David Mazzucchelli comic book series from 1987 Batman: Year One. Falcone has appeared in live action on the television series Gotham, and Christopher Nolan’s Batman Begins and The Dark Knight.

The Batman is slated to be released in theaters on June 25, 2021.
