Well it was a loss when NBC decided to cancel Constantine, despite fan petitions, massive twitter support and watching endless amounts of reruns, something even I did.
Though it was teased before the Upfronts that Constantine could be renewed by The CW, but it never occurred sadly. However in a recent interview with IGN Executive Producer for Arrow Wendy Mericle stated that they really want to bring Matt Ryan’s version of Constantine onto their show, but a few things have to happen first, with one of them being Matt Ryan’s schedule, as he was let go of his contract over a month ago.
This was also said by Stephen Amell in June that the writers were discussing having his character be on the show, since the supernatural elements were being introduced to the series.
Here is what Mericle had to say:
“Yeah, we really want to do it,” Mericle said. “It’s something we’ve been talking to DC about and it’s just a question of some political things, but also the actor’s schedule. We’re trying to work it out, but we don’t know 100 percent if it’s going to happen.”
ComicBook.com also claims there could still be a chance at a second season, despite the actors contracts expiring.
