Director Matthew Vaughn, while promoting his latest film Kingsman the Golden Circle, in an interview with Collider spoke on what he would do if he were to direct a Superman film, after admitting in a previous interview that he spoke to Warner Bros. once on directing a Superman movie, many fans speculate it was for Man of Steel 2

In the interview Vaughn goes on to say his Superman movie would be much like the Richard Donner film, with color and having be a feel-good heroic hero. Vaughn also goes on to say there’s be a beacon of light in darkness, as that’s what he think Superman should be.

“Weirdly if I did do Superman—and I made the mistake of telling someone yesterday I have spoken about it and then wallop (laughs)—I think my main take would be, it’s really boring but make a Superman film. I just don’t feel a proper Superman—I think Donner did it to perfection for that time. Just doing the modern—I wanna do a modern version of the Donner [version]. Go back to the source material… For me Superman is color, feel-good, heroic. He’s a beacon of light in darkness. And that’s what I think Superman should be.”

Man of Steel 2 was attached to the first DC Extended Universe slate of films press release, but since then no words has made by Warner Bros. if when the film will go into production. At this point many fans believe Warner Bros. has no plans to rush into second installment for the Man of Steel anytime soon.
