Warner Bros. Home Video announced a 9 Disc Anthology Collection of all 9 classic Batman and Superman films in a tin case
What is strange about this set is this does not include the recent films Man of Steel and Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice or the Christopher Nolan Dark Knight Trilogy. Also what is strange is that the theatrical cut of Superman II does not appear to be in this set, though it’s possible the announcement failed to mention it sharing the disc with the Richard Donner Cut.
The 2001 Special Edition of Superman: The Movie is not part of this collection, though its likely because Warner Archives is releasing that version with the “Salkinds International Extended Cut. ”
The Anthology set will contain:
Superman: The Movie (1978) dir. Richard Donner
Superman III (1983) dir. Richard Lester
Superman IV: The Quest for Peace (1987) dir. Sidney J. Furie
Batman (1989) dir. Tim Burton
Batman Returns (1992) dir. Tim Burton
Batman Forever (1995) dir. Joel Schumacher
Batman & Robin (1997) dir. Joel Schumacher
Superman Returns (2006) dir. Bryan Singer
Superman II: Richard Donner Cut (2006) dir. Richard Donner
The bonus discs that are part of the 2011 Superman Blu-Ray Collection which was a re-release of the 2006 DVD Collection with a few new features, are not in this set. Also the second Disc for Superman: The Movie, which featured other bonus material is not in this set.
Pre-order it now for $64.92:
