Nick Zano Cast as Dr. Nate Heywood on DC’s Legends of Tomorrow

Deadline has announced that Nick Zano has been cast as a regular, as the character of Dr. Nate Heywood on DC’s Legends of Tomorrow.

Dr. Nate Heywood, as comic book fans may know, is the DC Comics hero Citizen Steel, his Grandfather was known as Commander Steel, a member of the Justice Society of America.

Created by Geoff Johns and Alex Ross, Citizen Steel absorbed some liquid metal when he fought against the villain Reichsmark and developed organic metal skin, which helps to provide superhuman strength, invulnerability and superhuman speed. He is also a member of the Justice League of America.

So far, only the Hank Heywood/Commander Steel incarnation has appeared outside the comics as Kevin Conroy, who voices Bruce Wayne/Batman in Justice League: Unlimited, also voiced Commander Steel on the series.
