In an interview with Net-A-Porter, Robin Wright who’s known for playing Antiope, the aunt of Diana and leader of the Amazon army, went on to confirm that she shot a flashback sequence in Spain with Connin Neilsen for Patty Jenkins’s Wonder Woman 1984, starring Gal Gadot.
In the first installment Wonder Woman, Antiope gets killed by the Germans during a fight on the beach of Themyscira, when jumping in to save Diana from a gunfire. Now the character only seem to exist in flashbacks, since we’ve seen her appear in a flashback in Zack Synder’s Justice League.
Robin Wright as Antiope has become a fan favorite, so for her to continue to exist in the DC Universe in only flashbacks isn’t anything we won’t protest against. Though bringing her back in a current timeline won’t be a problem either…
Wonder Woman 1984 is set to release in theaters on November 1, 2019.
