Ryan Reynolds Thankful for Green Lantern

Ryan Reynolds who is set to make a splash as “The Merc with the Mouth” in FOX’s release of Deadpool next month, sat down with Empire magazine for the new film and during the conversation reminisced about his experience in making Hal Jordan/Green Lantern come to life in 2011 in the Green Lantern film for Warner Bros.

On The Experience:

“It was a slightly terrifying place to be”, Reynolds said. “You really need a visionary behind a movie like that, but it was the classic studio story: ‘We have a poster, but we don’t have a script! Let’s start shooting!'”

On The Benefit of Making the Film:

Reynolds called the production on Green Lantern “frustrating”, but doesn’t regret the decision. He met his future wife, Blake Lively, while filming and he states that it afforded him a lot of opportunities.

The new Green Lantern film which is set to be released in 2020, is said to be about the Green Lantern Corps with a focus on both Hal Jordan and John Stewart. As Ryan Reynolds has proved with Deadpool is that fans are willing to give a character a second chance if you give them a reason too.
