Shazam! Review Embargo to be Lifted on Saturday

The official word from Warner Bros. is that the review embargo for David F. Sandberg’s Shazam! will be lifted on Saturday, March 23rd at 9:30pm EST. That’s almost exactly two weeks before the official theatrical release date of the movie on April 5th.

Such an early lift like this one surely reinsures that Warner Bros. is very confidence with Shazam! and believe it’ll be received well not only by the audience who’ll see the movie during the early access by Fandango on that same Saturday, but also by the critics who have already seen the movie during the handful of early screenings the studio has provided throughout the month of March.

Many fans have speculated going by early social media reactions by different critics who have already seen the movie and shared their quick thoughts on the film through social media, that Shazam! is a shoe-in to land at least somewhere around the 90% range on Rotten Tomatoes.

Guess we’ll have to wait and see come this Saturday if fans speculation are accurate and Shazam! turns out to be another critical win for Warner Bros. like Patty Jenkins Wonder Woman was in 2017. One things for sure is many fans will be glued to their screens waiting on the critics reviews to drop.

Shazam! releases in theaters on April 5th, 2019.
