Batman: Return of the Caped Crusaders, which features the return of Adam West, Burt Ward and Julie Newmar in their iconic 60’s roles of Batman, Robin and Catwoman, is already receiving a sequel.
At New York Comic-Con it was announced that there will be a sequel coming that will feature Two-Face and will be voiced by William Shatner, who is known for being a huge DC Comics Fan. The title of the film was revealed to be Batman vs Two-Face.
No other details are known except that some dialogue and animation has already been completed and shown at NYCC.
Two-Face never appeared on the series, but was meant to appear in Season 4 before the series was canceled. The script that was written by Harlan Ellison was later adapted into a comic book titled Batman 66′: The Lost Episode #1. So it would be cool to see if that is what they will be adapting.
Like, Batman: Return of the Caped Crusaders, it’s not likely this will be considered part of the DC Animated Universe line of films, which typically have an edgier tone akin to the New 52.
Batman: Return of the Caped Crusaders will be released on October 10th in select theaters for one night only. With a digital release on October 11th and a Blu-Ray/DVD release on November 1st.
Starring Adam West (Batman), Burt Ward (Robin), Julie Newmar (Catwoman), Wally Wingert (The Riddler), Steven Weber (Alfred Pennyworth), John Bergman (The Joker), William Salyers (The Penguin), Jim Ward (Commissioner Gordon), Thomas Lennon (Chief O’Hara), Lynne Marie Stewart (Aunt Harriet).
