It appears Suicide Squad 2 is a top priority for Warner Bros. as a new writer has been announced today by The Hollywood Reporter. According to the news, Adam Cozad was hired to pen Suicide Squad 2, though there is no director attached at the moment, Mel Gibson is a top contender for the studio.
Cozad’s credits include The Legend of Tarzan, and Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit, the latter featuring some great action scenes. He has also written scripts for the upcoming Valiant adaptation Bloodshot and the upcoming Kristen Stewart film Underwater.
David Ayer, who wrote and directed the original film is now working on the pseudo-sequel spin-off Gotham City Sirens that will star Margot Robbie as Harley Quinn, along with Catwoman and Poison Ivy.
