Alicia Silverstone, who played Batgirl in Batman & Robintalked with USA Today about wanting to have another chance at playing the role, citing that she is older and a better actress.

“I feel like I could do a much better Batgirl now than I did then. It would be fun to tackle it again,” Silverstone tells USA TODAY. “Because I’m older and my acting is better. I know I would bring so much more to it.”

Silverstone says she was too young and inexperienced to really take on the part two decades ago.

“I was just a baby. It was a different thing. But I had fun back then. And I think it would be fun to do it again,” she says.

One thing that would have to change? The restrictive Batgirl outfit.

“That costume was so uncomfortable,” says Silverstone. “Maybe something more comfortable would be nice. Something you can sit in. Something you can get out of to pee.”

Batman & Robin is infamous for being the film that nearly killed the comic book genre, as well as the Batman film franchise for nearly a decade. With New Line’s Blade helping to bring the popularity back.

While Alicia Silverstone is older and it would make sense for an actress her age to play the role, there is little chance she will get the main role.

Writer/Director Joss Whedon has expressed an interest in having her make a cameo in the film, so there’s that chance, which she did respond with interest.

“I’m open to anything, whatever people bring to me and whatever the best choice is for that time.”
