As we previously reported Variety and The Hollywood Reporter both reported on the top contenders that Warner Bros. are in talks with to director The Flash, those directors being Robert Zemeckis, Matthew Vaughn and Sam Raimi.
Now Justin Kroll, who wrote the Variety article, expanded more on his scoop on Robert Zemeckis’s involvement and Matthew Vaughn’s possible agenda on getting the job to direct.
For Vaughn, I've heard his name way too much over the past week for there not to be interest and as of now he has no go movie on slate

That said, all this noise could be a play by him and his team to force Fox to blink on 3RD KINGSMAN ahead of GOLDEN CIRCLE's release

Justin Kroll also confirmed he also heard about Sam Raimi being on the director shortlist, but it’s up to Robert Zemeckis and Matthew Vaughn whether or not he gets the job.
Have heard Raimi but hearing balls in Bob and Matt's court
