Amber Heard (Zombieland, The Danish Girl) according to The Hollywood Reporter is in talks with Warner Bros. to play Mera, The Queen of Atlantis in the DC Extended Universe, a role that if she accepts will start in Justice League: Part 1.

The character of Mera is being said to first appear in Justice League, which is set to begin filming in April of 2016, for an extensive shoot.

Aquaman, which is being directed by James Wan and written by David Leslie Johnson is set to be released shortly after Justice League: Part 1, so this would certainly mean Amber Heard will be shooting back to back and depending on her role in the Justice League films could be shooting two films at once.

Mera, is the Wife of Arthur Curry/Aquaman, the King of Atlantis, making her Queen of Atlantis and has super strength, telepathy and has even held onto a Red Lantern ring. She is known to have a temper when provoked and is often showed to be just as physically capable of holding her own.
