Andrew Kreisberg Hints a Possible Melissa Benoist Role on The Flash

Grant Gustin made an appearance on Supergirl as The Flash in the episode titled “Worlds Finest”, which acknowledged that they are separate universes and the episode proved to be a huge success in the ratings for CBS.

Now it seems like its possible that Melissa Benoist could appear on The Flash, but not as Supergirl, but possibly the DC Comics character of Power Girl.

In a recent interview with Entertainment Weekly, Executive Producer Andrew Kreisberg was asked about the possibility of seeing another crossover:

Is there a Kara Danvers on Earth-1? Could we meet her on The Flash? — Timothy
Yes, but … “Any Kara that exists on Earth 1 would also have to have been an alien,” says EP Andrew Kreisberg. “It can’t just be Kara Danvers from Poughkeepsie.” Does that mean she could be a potential super (or maybe a power) girl on his Earth, too? “Sure, different costume, but sure,” Kreisberg adds.

Power Girl is Kara Zor-El, who is from the Earth 2 (Golden Age) continuity and is the cousin of Superman from Earth 2. Power Girl was also late to getting to the Planet Earth, despite being sent off at the same time, sharing the origin of the Earth 1 Supergirl.

For a short time Power Girl’s origin was retconned to be the daughter of the Atlantean Arion during the Crisis on Infinite Earth story arc, as well as taking up the mantle of Nightwing during the “One Year Later” story arc.

If this does happen it be great to see how they do this, but will it also mean they are being allowed to acknowledge Superman’s possible existence? We’ve already got a few hints that both Batman and Superman are apart of the universe at some point.
