Batman: Return of the Caped Crusaders to Be Released November 1st 2016

We heard a few months ago that on top of the standard DC Animated Universe films we would also be getting a new Animated Batman film from within the universe of the 1966 TV Series starring Adam West as Batman and Burt Ward as Robin.

Now we have a new trailer confirming the title as Batman: Return of the Caped Crusaders as well as the additional confirmation that Julie Newmar is returning as the voice of Catwoman. It also announced the release date for the Blu-Ray/DVD Combo Pack as November 1st, with an October 11th release date for the Digital HD release.

The trailer was shown exclusively on Entertainment Weekly and features scene reminiscent of the campy tone of the original, the animation itself resembles Batman: The Brave and the Bold.

In the trailer it was also announced that The Riddler, The Joker and The Penguin will also be part of the film, but no casting announcement has been made as Frank Gorshin, Burgess Meredith and Caesar Romero, who all played those roles passed away years ago. However, John Astin, who played The Riddler when Frank Gorshin was unavailable it still alive and well. Hopefully he makes a voice appearance and a nice nod to the history of the series.

My name is Eric and I am loving this current comic book boom, I was around for the first one with Superman: The Movie, Supergirl(being the first female and crossover film) and Batman and have been enjoying the resurgence since Blade. Can't express how much I cannot wait for WB & DC to take back the film universe but until than I love the TV shows we have gotten. I only started reading comics about 10 years ago but am connected more to DC over Marvel or any other major company. If you wanna chat feel free to contact me
