Ben Affleck and Geoff Johns To Work on Batman Solo Film

Deadline is reporting that Ben Affleck and Geoff Johns are going to be the team that writes the next Batman solo film. Apparently Geoff Johns and Ben Affleck have such a great teamwork ethic they are more than likely going to have a completed script before Ben Affleck heads off to direct Live By Night, which would be by the end of this Summer.

Geoff Johns for those who don’t know is one of the men behind the current wave of DC Entertainment properties we are getting. He is also the Chief Creative Officer of DC Comics and has written some great stories with characters such as Green Lantern, Aquaman, Batman, Justice League Unlimited, The Flash and Superman. He also has written TV series superhero transfers Smallville, Arrow and The Flash, as well as the Supergirl project with Greg Berlanti for CBS.

It’s also being reported that the solo film titled The Batman will begin shooting after Live By Night is completed and would show Batman and where he is after the events of Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice and Justice League: Part One.

Live By Night was already postponed due to Ben Affleck’s commitment to Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice and the unforeseen delay. But its nice to see he is able to juggle these films and it also shows he really has passion as before the first Batman film we’ll see him at least 3 times in other franchises such as Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice, Suicide Squad and Justice League: Part One.

With Justice League: Part One slated to hit theaters in 2017, I am guessing that The Batman will appear during 2017 or 2018. It’ll also make sense to film Ben Affleck as Batman as close together as possible so he can move on to other things in between. It’s certainly going to be a “Batty” 4 years for Ben Affleck, but with so much desire and fandom within himself it’s gotta be a fun ride.
