Laura Vandervoort Talks About a Possible Supergirl Cameo

During an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Laura Vandervoort was asked about her role on Smallville as Kara Zor-El/Supergirl and her thoughts on the Supergirl series.

Of course she said she loved doing the part but is glad to see a new interpretation, but she also said she would love to be apart of it and that the chances of that happening is pretty good, than she scaled it back to “Maybe”.

She also went on to say there was plans to spin her character off to her own series but the timing wasn’t right. If anyone saw her last episode on Smallville you can kind of see the seeds being planted for that, which personally I would have loved to see, especially with Brainiac 5 and the Legion of Superheroes already introduced.

This would be yet another example of DC’s long tradition of bringing back actors who once played an important DC role. In Smallville, Helen Slater who was Supergirl in the 1984 film, played Lara-El, Kara’s aunt and now is playing Kara’s foster-mother in the new series, so its nice to see the tradition of having Laura appear, could we see a scene with all 3 Supergirl’s together? If I was one of the writers, we would definitely see that.
