Constantine Renewed as CW Seed Animated Series

The CW has announced that Constantine will be returning, but as an animated series on CW Seed. The series will be at least 10 minutes long, which will be just a bit longer than the average episode of Vixen and will be linked to the DC television series on The CW.

Constantine co-Creator David S. Goyer will be serving as writer on the series, however Daniel Cerone at this moment is not included on the revival.

Matt Ryan will be reprising his role from the NBC series and his appearance on Arrow as well. No word yet on any other returning actors will be voicing their live action counterparts, but it’s safe to assume this could be a testing ground for possibly renewing the series in live action in the future.

The CW President Mark Pedowitz spoke on his excitement to see Matt Ryan return and any chance of a live action renewal anytime soon.

There are no current plans for Ryan to make more live-action appearances on the CW’s DC series but Pedowitz said that the network would like to see him back since his first appearance “added dimension” to Arrow.

This will mark the 3rd time Matt Ryan reprised his role as John Constantine since NBC made the mistake of canceling the series with appearances on Arrow and voicing the character in the upcoming R rated Animated feature Justice League Dark.
