David Ayer No Longer Directing Gotham City Sirens

Deadline is reporting that director David Ayer, who wrote and directed Suicide Squad and was set to direct and write Gotham City Sirens, is no longer attached to the latter.

This news comes as part of Deadline’s reporting on the untitled Joker and Harley Quinn film after The Hollywood Reporter first broke the news. It also appears that with Ayer no longer being involved, the film is no longer in development.

No confirmation from David Ayer or Warner Bros. so take with grain of salt, though it is Deadline that’s reporting the news and they’re a reliable news site.

UPDATE: Deadline has since updated their article by adding the following:

DC has been all over the place with possible movies, and this one is apparently different from Gotham City Sirens, a different Harley Quinn spinoff meant to showcase several top female villains from the DC stable which Suicide Squad director David Ayer is attached to direct.
