Shazam director David F. Sandberg went on to confirm which was already officially announced by Warner Bros., the release date for Shazam during a Reddit Q&A with horror movie fans.

The film’s April 5, 2019 release date was originally announced back 2014 when Warner Bros. released the first slate for DC Films. It was then once again confirmed the film’s release year would be in 2019 when Sandberg was announced as director back in July of this year.

Though the month and even the date hasn’t been spoken of since 2014 until now, thanks to Sandberg who has confirmed that the film is still set to be released in the month of April. This only now leads to question if the date of the 5th is still in place.

Q: Also..how is Shazam moving along! Is it true it won’t be out until mid-2019 or is that like a “latest possible” release date?

A: April 2019. It takes a long time to make vfx heavy movies.
