David Leslie Johnson to Write Aquaman Film

The Hollywood Reporter has been given the exclusive announcement that David Leslie Johnson has been tapped to write the solo Aquaman film, which currently only has Jason Mamoa to star as Arthur Curry/Aquaman and James Wan is on board as Director.

It was already reported that writers Will Beall and Kurt Johnstad were both writing separate scripts in which Warner Bros. and most likely James Wan would than choose who had the better story. Its unclear if he is adapting both scripts into one film, writing his own treatment or just adapting one of the script, much like how Chris Terrio adapted David S. Goyer’s script of Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice.

While his film writing credits are a mixed bag, he has worked on The Walking Dead and David Leslie Johnson is currently working with James Wan on The Conjuring 2, so it could be James Wan brought him on aboard musch like Ben Affleck brought Chris Terrio on board for Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice.

Either way Aquaman is not scheduled to come out until July 27, 2018, so there is still some time to get a great story going, so hopefully this is how they will accomplish that.

Keep in mind though, while The Hollywood Reporter is very reliable, this has NOT been confirmed by Warner Bros.
