Jai Courtney during an interview with The Hollywood Reporter for his latest movie Storm Boy, was asked on his return to his character of Captain Boomerang in the David Ayer’s Suicide Squad sequel, that will be directed by James Gunn, The Suicide Squad.
Courtney went on to say how when he confirmed his return in his interview in Business Insider, he felt like he let the cat out of the bag as prior to that, it was unclear to many fans and news entertainment outlets if he would be returning to the role, as it was rumored that Gunn’s The Suicide Squad would be a reboot to the first movie, clearly that’s not the case.
“Yeah, I am,” he said of his return to Captain Boomerang. “I said it the other day in an interview and I felt like I let the cat out of the bag. I haven’t been sworn to secrecy about it so I guess it’s okay to say that I will be.”
Courtney does go on to say how excited he is to return to the character of Captain Boomerang, as he loved playing him:
“I loved playing Captain Boomerang,” he said. “It’s just like a rockers nightmare. Just looking forward to reprising that and getting the gold tooth back in and getting after it.”
The Suicide Squad is set to release in theaters on August 6, 2021.
