Jane Goldsman May Have Confirmed that Matthew Vaughn Will Direct Man of Steel Sequel?

It’s been a rumor for a while now that Kingsman: The Golden Circle director Matthew Vaughn would be directing the Man of Steel sequel, which was announced months ago as being in development. Nothing concrete was ever announced, but now we may have more information that is more concrete.

Now Screenwriter Jane Goldsman revealed in an interview that Matthew Vaughn is looking at the Man of Steel sequel. Though, she doesn’t say he is definitely directing the film, she does mention he is looking at the character from a different point of view and she is unsure if she will be writing that film.

“I know Matthew’s [Vaughn] a big Superman fan. Would I like to… I don’t know. I mean I’m not sure. I think Matthew’s looking at it from a directing point of view. I have no idea what’s happening there.”

Keep in mind this is not a definitive confirmation, even she says she isn’t sure what’s happening there, but that she knows enough to know he is looking at it from a director’s point of view does confirm he has at least met with Warner Bros.

My name is Eric and I am loving this current comic book boom, I was around for the first one with Superman: The Movie, Supergirl(being the first female and crossover film) and Batman and have been enjoying the resurgence since Blade. Can't express how much I cannot wait for WB & DC to take back the film universe but until than I love the TV shows we have gotten. I only started reading comics about 10 years ago but am connected more to DC over Marvel or any other major company. If you wanna chat feel free to contact me

  • I really hope they keep the serious tone from Man of Steel .Doesn’t need to be as dark as BVS, but I at least want it to take itself seriously.
