According to The Hollywood Reporter, actress Jenna Dawan-Tatum (Step Up, American Horror Story: Asylum) has been cast as Lucy Lane on Supergirl.
In the comics, Lucy Lane, is the sister of Lois Lane, Superman’s love interest. She also has an on again off again relationship with Jimmy Olsen and becomes Superwoman, although she is still human she wears a Bronze Age inspired suit that gives her abilities, however she is forced by her father General Sam Lane to commit villainous acts until confronted and unintentionally killed by Supergirl. It’s possible she will be brought on simply as a love interest to Jimmy Olsen, but keep in mind she may serve a bigger role.
Lucy Lane has had a few other notable appearances, such as being Jimmy Olsen (Marc McClure) love interest and Kara Zor-El/Supergirl (Helen Slater) best friend in the 1984 Supergirl film (Maureen Teefy). She appeared in 3 episodes of Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman (played by Elizabeth Barondes and Roxana Zal). She also appeared in Smallville, played by Peyton List(Golden Glider on The Flash)
Lucy Lane first appeared in Superman’s Pal: Jimmy Olsen #36 (April 1959) and first appearance as Superwoman in Supergirl #35 (January 2009).
Supergirl premieres October 26th at 8:30pm on CBS.
