Casting for Aquaman is fully underway as Deadline is reporting that Patrick Wilson (Watchmen, The Conjuring) has been cast as Orm, almost known as Ocean Master, the half-brother of Arthur Curry (Jason Momoa) and one of his more well-known villains.

The casting has since been confirmed by Patrick Wilson himself, and Aquaman director James Wan.

Ocean Master first appeared in Aquaman #29 in September of 1966 and was created by Writer Bob Haney and Artist Nick Cardy and has a rivalry with Arthur Curry. In the New 52 he’s seen as King of Atlantis when Arthur Curry first appears in Atlantis, Vulko accuses him of killing the previous King, setting up his villainous ways.

It’s unknown if Ocean Master will be the main villain, but considering James Wan came on board due to his love for the New 52 run of the character it is more than likely he will be the main villain.

Wilson also played Daniel Dreilberg/Nite Owl 2 in Zack Snyder’s Watchmen. Patrick Wilson is also best known for his roles in James Wan’s The Conjuring and Insidious films, as well as having a cameo role in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice as  the voice of the President of the United States.
