Ryan Reynolds while on Conan premiering the red band trailer of his latest film Deadpool, took a jab at the idea of a Green Lantern 2 during his interview. For those unfamiliar, Reynolds played Hal Jordan/Green Lantern in the 2011 Green Lantern movie.
Also in the trailer for Deadpool, you’ll also hear another jab at Green Lantern as the character of Wade Wilson says “Don’t make my suit green…or animated”.
Green Lantern was Warner Bros. second attempt since Superman Returns, to begin a DC Cinematic Universe, however lots of studio interferences and a misunderstanding of the character, led to many fans and critics alike to write it off as a bad film.
