This news is coming quite late but on October 28, 2015 actor Scott Wells passed away at a Hospice in Miamisburg, Ohio. Cause of his passing has not been revealed.
Scott Wells is known partly for playing Lex Luthor on the First Season of The Adventures of Superboy, starring alongside Stacy Haiduk (Lana Lang) and John Haymes Newton (Clark Kent/Superboy). At the end of the First Season Scott Wells was let go and later replaced by the more popular Sherman Howard for the rest of the series.
While he wasn’t the version many preferred, he is distinct in the fact he played the role in the infamous Season 1 Finale where Lex loses his hair after Superboy blows a chemical gas that causes it to fall out.
