Suicide Squad is still reigning at the box office as it has stayed at the #2 spot for a second weekend, with $10.5 million. This follows a reign at the #1 spot for 3 weekends, with only the new thriller Don’t Breathe being able to knock it out of first place.

With it being Labor Day weekend, an official total to the 4-day weekend won’t be known until Monday evening, but bring the third film in the DC Extended Universe, it has managed to beat the worldwide total for Man of Steel with $672,922,209, while Man of Steel came in with its final total for its theatrical run worldwide, with $668,045,518.

Both totals are impressive as Man of Steel, which has arguably the most well-known superhero of all time and was given a China release has been unseated by Suicide Squad, which had unknown characters to the general audience and no China release. This is more proof that the DC Extended Universe is doing just fine as fans continue to flock to see their films.

Suicide Squad still has at least one more premiere on September 10th in Japan, so expect the total to rise even further.
