Supergirl premiered last night on CBS with very strong numbers. According to TVBytheNumbers, it’s the second highest rated show for last night among adults 18-49, with a 3.2/10 in the share and 12.94 million viewers per Nielsen Media’s live-plus-same day metrics and is only expected to double in DVR views, as most television shows do. The premiere also grew in its second half-hour and the audience was fairly well-balanced between men and women.
These ratings also make it the highest rated and most watched show on an opening night for a premiere show this Fall season, making it the top rated Fall show this year, which another score for DC Television, as The Flash last season became the highest rated program in The CW’s history.
Next week the series goes to its regular schedule of 8pm, so hopefully the ratings continue to stay strong as it won’t have The Big Bang Theory as it’s lean-in series.
