The Kitchen Release Date Revealed

Warner Bros. officially announced that Vertigo Comics The Kitchen, which is an imprint comic from DC Comics, has an official release date of September 20, 2019.

The Kitchen will mark screenplay writer Andrea Berloff directorial début. Tiffany Haddish will be starring, along with Melissa McCarthy, who’s still in talks to join as part of her deal with New Line Cinema, while Michael De Luca is producing the movie.

This is will mark the second DC Comics movie to be released from New Line Cinema in 2019, with Shazam being the first, which is currently in production. New Line has several other projects such as Black Adam, The Sandman and 100 Bullets all in various development phases. There’s no word on when filming is to start but its likely soon.

Synopsis:

Set in 1970s Hell’s Kitchen in New York City, the story of The Kitchen is an adaptation of the comic book created by Ollie Masters and Ming Doyle that follows three tough mob wives who take over the business after their husbands land in jail. At first, they were underestimated by their peers, but the wives become even more successful at organized crime than their husbands were.
