Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice Has Huge HBO Premiere Numbers

Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice made its HBO première last Saturday and the now the numbers have come in and shows that the second film in the DC Extended Universe, gave HBO huge numbers despite premiering on a Saturday night.

According to DC Comics News, 2.33 million viewers tuned in, with 0.99 being in the 18-49 demographic. This is quite impressive considering Saturday nights rarely ever show big numbers as many people are out enjoying their weekend, it’s made even more impressive because it’s the theatrical cut, which many felt was horribly edited, especially compared to Zack Snyder’s original cut dubbed “The Ultimate Edition. ”

It’s unknown if HBO will ever show the Ultimate Edition, but you can buy it on Blu-Ray/DVD Combo Packs, Amazon’s Limited Edition Box Set which includes Man of Steel and services such as Amazon Video and iTunes.

The theatrical cut is edited perfectly, with scenes interlocking, directly connected to each other through periods, themes or even framing sequences. Whoever said that it isn’t right, don’t know anything about filmmaking. People say that was not edited correctly but I’m pretty sure that they don’t even know what’s right or wrong, considering that a lot of people have criticized the editing without understanding what they were criticizing.
Just because people watch some movies, doesn’t mean that they know something specific about how a movie is made and about all the rules and different variations of shooting and editing. There are schools and there are people who studied this, Snyder for example, that they know better than arrogant and conceited critics and audience, ignorants in all the tecnical parts of the movie making. Is also wrong say that the editing is not right, beacause is not about the editing but the sequences. Some scenes are shorter than others and seems like they are faster in term of timeline, but this is a way to put different sequences togheter in a time precise. People are used to something, and when they receive something else, they said that is not right. This is why there is widespread ignorance that prevents people to fully understand what surrounds their existence. The ignorant are ignorant of their ignorance.
