Deadline reported today that more of the extended Captain Marvel family were cast, giving us an idea that the New 52 continuity is playing a bigger part than many thought before.
In the New 52 Billy Batson is more rough around the edges, having gone through a few foster homes. Like many characters in the New 52 comics, he was more reflective of the world today.
Director David F. Sandberg answered a fans question about the type of attitude Billy is going to have and he assure him that he won’t be like he was in the New 52. This is normal as comic book films with the history Shazam has tend to pull from the various continuities.
Now I just need to pray that Billy isn't a huge dickhead in the movie like he was in the comic.
