When the Rebirth story line for DC Comics began with Geoff Johns, one shot DC Universe Rebirth #1 it promised for many fans that the grim and gloomy universe of the New 52 created would begin to see some hope and optimism, an idea Johns promised would happen in the films when he was made co-head for the DC Films division at Warner Bros.

Now in a recent interview with Hey U Guys, Ben Affleck spoke a bit on Justice League and how it will be like a “Rebirth” to the DC Extended Universe.

“It was great, and there’s a lot of changes and a lot of new stuff. There was a whole feeling of kind of ‘rebirth’ and there’s an exciting group of actors. You know, Ezra Miller and Jason Momoa and guys like that, so much fun, and Gal Gadot who’s great and Henry Cavill. It was a lot of fun.” It’s interesting that he mentions “Rebirth”, as that’s the name of the DC Comics initiative which has relaunched the comic book universe with more hope and optimism.

As someone who enjoyed the New 52 but has enjoyed many of the Rebirth titles this is great news and promising for those who have not been enjoying the darker tone of the earlier films.
