Matthew Vaughn continues to do his rounds to promote Kingsman: The Golden Circle and clarified a statement he made yesterday where he said he would bring back the Donner version of Superman if he were to make his vision for a Superman film.

Immediately many were wondering if he would go the Superman Returns route and try to cling to that old take on the character. Others speculated that perhaps he would make a Superman film that is not connected to the DC Extended Universe.

Now speaking with Uproxx he went to clarify that he’d be happy to do it, suggesting that he would continue the franchise as it has evolved so far.

“Well, if I do, I’ll be happy as well. It’s an honor to even have had a discussion. So, they’re probably freaking out that I’ve even mentioned it. But, yes, we’ll see. Who knows what will happen in my life, that’s for sure.”’

With Justice League concluding Clark Kent’s evolution into Superman, it make sense for a new director to come in and take the reigns of the more hopeful and heroic “Man of Tomorrow. ”
