Preacher Renewed for a Second Season

AMC has officially renewed Preacher for a second season, not only that but they also extended the series to 13 episodes.

This news comes from The Hollywood Reporter, as the new Vertigo/DC adaptation by Seth Rogen, Evan Goldberg and Sam Catlin has proven to be successful in its current time slot. Averaging 3.3 million viewers with the 3 day total factored in it has become the No. 2 new cable series this year among the advertiser-coveted adults 18-49 demographic and adults 25-54. This total is also against HBO’s Game of Thrones, which is quite impressive as Game of Thrones has a huge fan base.

AMC President Charlie Collier commented on the renewal and its show-runners:

“What Sam, Seth, Evan and the entire creative team have achieved in bringing Garth Ennis’ graphic novel to the screen is extraordinary. We look forward to more time with these unforgettable characters be it in Heaven, Hell, Texas or beyond.”

The series marathon of the first five episodes will be airing starting at 9pm on Thursday, with a new episode coming Sunday at 9pm.
