The Hollywood Reporter broke the news that the Wonder Woman sequel has the release date of December 13, 2019. Patty Jenkins is not signed on, but it’s assumed that since she is working on the story with Geoff Johns she will ultimately sign on and return in the director’s chair. Gal Gadot is returning to the role of Wonder Woman, no other returning cast is known yet.

This films release will add to Shazam, which will begin shooting in January or February for a 2019 release. Batgirl is also looking to begin getting worked on in 2018, so it’s possible we can get three DC Extended Universe films in 2019.

Wonder Woman recently became the most successful film of the domestic Summer and it’s looking like it will stay that way. Wonder Woman is in its 6th week domestically and still in the Top 10 at the box office. With $780 million plus in the Worldwide box office it’s almost guaranteed it will hit the $800 million dollar mark after its release in Japan in August.
